When you instruct one.

  • Cargo is sitting in a shed and damage is appearing without an obvious cause.
  • A property or liability insurer wants the storage risk seen before or during cover.
  • Goods are held under customs or under a dispute and their condition is deteriorating.
  • You suspect the loss happened ashore rather than at sea, and need it established.

What we do.

  • 01Inspect the building. Roof, drainage, floor, doors, lighting, and whether water gets in where it should not.
  • 02Assess stacking and segregation. Height, weight-bearing, mixed commodities, and what is stored next to what.
  • 03Observe handling practice. How goods are actually moved by the people who move them, not how the procedure says they are.
  • 04Record the cargo's condition. Sound and damaged, with quantities, as at the date of attendance.
  • 05Take environmental readings. Temperature and humidity where the goods are sensitive to either.

What you receive.

  • A warehouse survey report on facility, practice and cargo condition.
  • Photographic record of the building and the stow.
  • A view on whether the storage is a contributing cause of the loss.
  • Recommendations where the risk is improvable.

What we need from you

  • Warehouse address and the operator's contact
  • What is stored, and since when
  • Any prior loss history at the site
  • Who authorises entry

What we hold ourselves to

  • 2–24hA surveyor instructed from the network nearest the cargo.
  • 24–48hYour update on the appraisal, with photographs and the key information.
  • 72hThe detailed preliminary report, after the survey assessment.
  • 45 daysExpected turnover per mission. The final report follows the loss mitigation or destruction operation.

Attendance on site depends on distance to the port and on terminal and customs access, so that is confirmed on your file rather than promised as one number for every port on the continent.
